Driving Backward, Looking Forward

         Spirit observed the ground in front of her after a backward drive toward McCool Hill. Her front wheel was inoperable, and she was heading for sunnier slopes to spend the winter. This mosaic was acquired on Sol 785 (March 19, 2006) using Pancam's 753 nm, 535 nm, and 432 nm filters. Two versions are offered at full resolution: an approximate true color mosaic, and a false color stretch to bring out subtle color differences in the scene.
